Cougar women shut out Vikings

The University of Minnesota, Morris women’s soccer team scored twice in each half to help the Cougars defeat Bethany Lutheran  4-0 on Saturday.

Rachael Berns bookended the Cougars’ win with a pair of goals. Morris outshot the Vikings 23-1 and racked up 16 corners.

Berns scored her third goal of the season after Emily Moore connected with her in the 29th minute putting UMM up 1-0.

Carly Denler scored her fourth goal of the season, heading a ball off the foot of Ally Heida, just before halftime.

Out of the break Kebra Rogers made it 3-0 in the 51st minute after an assist from Emma LaChance.

Berns had another left footed goal in the 68th minute thanks to an assist from Denler.
