The University of Minnesota, Morris used a scoring streak in the second half to upend Northland 7-0 on Friday afternoon in women's soccer.
Both Rachael Berns and Katie Kestner had two goals in the match for UMM. Zoe Bergstrom opened up the scoring in the ninth minute to give Morris a quick 1-0 lead. Kestner picked up her first goal of the match in the 23rd minute putting UMM up 2-0. The score would remain 2-0 until the second half.
After a scoreless twenty minutes to open up the half, Berns put one in the back of the net for her first of two goals in under a minute. Amazingly they were not back to back as Kelsi Kolle had a 66th minute goal as well. The Cougars led 5-0 after scoring those three goals in under a minute.
Kestner scored her second goal of the match in the 84th minute before Megahn Laird added a goal of her own in the 89th minute to seal the 7-0 victory.
Rikki Beaver and Rianne Metz combined for the shutout.
