Cougar women win another shutout
The University of Minnesota, Morris women’s soccer team shut out Crown College 2-0 Saturday. It was the Cougars' sixth straight shutout victory.
Morris attacked early when Rachel Berns received a pass from the right side from Kebra Rogers and from there Berns centered the ball and sent it into the net scoring in the third minute of the game.
The Cougars remained on attack, taking a total of 16 shots in the first half; however only the first shot by Berns went into the net. Crown College had no shots on goal in the first half as the Cougars’ defense shut them down.
In the second half Morris slowed the game down until their fourth attempt, in the 84th minute, gave the Cougars a 2-0 lead, thanks to Berns.
The Cougars finished the game with 20 shots on goal while holding Crown to no shots on goal.
