The University of Minnesota, Morris men's basketball team defeated Presentation College 75-59 in a rematch Thursday at the P.E. Center. Two weeks prior in Aberdeen, the Saints topped the Cougars 75-67.
Leading scorer, Eric Dalbey, was sidelined by the flu, but the Cougars stepped up and filled roles on both ends of the floor.
The Cougars maintained a small lead throughout much of the first half.
The Cougars dominated the boards, which helped them withstand stretches of cold shooting.
The Cougars had trouble finding a shooting rhythm in the first half, but their defense allowed them to keep a 29-27 halftime lead.
Early in the second half, the Cougars went on a run to take a 10-point lead, built largely on the back of hustling defense, forcing the Saints into turnovers. The Cougars continued to build a lead that ended at 75-57 at the final horn.
The Saints commmitted 17 turnovers to the Cougars' 12.
Kendall Proell led the Cougars with 16 points. Sophomore Kyle Bruns and junior Dan Fragodt put up season highs with 13 points apiece. Senior Joey Fragodt contributed eight points, five assists, and five rebounds
