Cougars downed by Bethel men

The University of Minnesota, Morris men's basketball team fell to Bethel University 76-52 in Arden Hills Tuesday.

Bethel outscored the Cougars 12-3 near the end of the first half to take a 14-point lead into halftime.

The Cougars averaged 41.9 percent from the field.

Bethel had a 47.8 percent shooting average.

The Cougars were 11-of-20 at the free-throw line, while Bethel hit six of nine.

Kendall Proell led the Cougars with 12 points, including two 3-pointers.

Eric Dalbey had 11 points, also with two 3-pointers.

Daniel Fragodt led the team with five rebounds and scored nine points.

Clay Fischer had six points.

Mitch Primus and Kyle Bruns had five points apiece.

Chris Haglin and Zach Meyer each added one field goal.

This weekend the Cougars travel to Mayville State.
