The University of Minnesota, Morris volleyball team returned from a weekend road trip with just one victory in four matches, but with plenty of experience and lessons for the future.
On Sept. 4, the Cougars dropped a pair of matches to North Central College (3-0) and Carroll College (3-0).
On Saturday morning, the Cougars topped hosts Wisconsin Lutheran in four games (25-20, 25-16, 21-25, 25-18). In the fourth and final match, they took Lawrence College to five games before dropping the decisive set 15-12.
While head coach Chad Braegelmann was not happy with the number of wins from the road trip, he said the experience gave everyone plenty of playing time. He was particularly pleased with his team's passing over the weekend. Most importantly he said the Cougars learned a valuable lesson about level of play.
"This weekend should remind us of the intensity we need to have every game."
