The tour will start at the Dan Jenniges farm at 22887 County Road 10 in Glenwood. Jenniges will discuss his attempt to seed a cover crop into standing corn to provide fall forage for his beef herd, and some of the challenges he encountered during this drought year.

The tour will continue to the Jess Berge farm at 480 170th Ave. NE in Sunburg. Jess will talk about his success with planting and grazing a cover crop mix of turnips and rape following forage peas and oats that he bagged for silage.

The field day is free, but pre-registration is requested. To register or for more information, e-mail Julia Ahlers Ness, janess@landstewardshipproject.org or call her at 320-269-2105, ext. 16.
