When Crystal Lanes opens Friday, bowlers will get a chance to try out the new automatic scoring.
Owner David Ziegelmann recently completed a makeover of the Morris bowling alley that includes a new look along with electronic control terminals and mounted monitors.
"We try to do some improvements every year," said Ziegelmann. "I'm really happy with how it turned out."
Bowlers will be happy with the new user-friendly system that features eight languages.
"Anyone can use it," said Ziegelmann.
Easy to follow directions are found right on the control terminal and Ziegelmann will be available to help bowlers get used to the new technology.
In fact, Ziegelmann is opening the bowling alley earlier than usual this summer, to get everyone accustomed to the changes before leagues begin after Labor Day.
Crystal Lanes offers 12 lanes, including six with bumpers for families with small children. The alley also features pool tables, a dart board, and a juke box. Party packages are available for all ages.
"Bowling is still one of the cheapest forms of entertainment around," said Ziegelmann. "It's very affordable."
Bowlers can play three games and rent shoes for under $10.
Crystal Lanes and Entertainment Center, located on Hwy 28 West in Morris, is open daily.
