This year's scholars are Rachel Shiek, of Hibbing, a student at Hibbing Community College, and Joshua Fahey, of Hutchinson, a student at Minnesota State-Mankato.

About 50 boats and more than 100 people were entered in this year's contest.

Prizes were awarded for three places in three fish categories. The winners are:

Panfish: First place -- Henry Canfield, $300; Second and third places -- Lisa Denzer, $100, and Les Sather, $100.
