Deadline for MWC on Cass Lake Chain near Bemidji is Sunday

CASS LAKE – Registrations will be accepted until midnight Sunday, Sept. 9 for the Cabela’s Masters Walleye circuit tournament on Cass Lake which will be held Sept. 14-16.
The event, which is based at Stony Point Resort, offers competition on Friday and Saturday for the two-person teams. Sunday will be reserved in case foul weather prevents the teams from fishing either of the first two days.
Teams are allowed to bring their best five walleyes to the scale each day and the team with the heaviest two-day total will walk away with top honors and more than $11,000 of the more than $32,000 overall purse.
The event is open to all and offers payouts to the top 20 percent of the field.
When the Cabela’s MWC visited Cass Lake last September, South Dakotans Travor Diegel and Paul Steffen won with 28.64 pounds.
The public is invited to the 4 pm. weigh-ins at Stony Point Resort. Children 12 and under are also invited to the youth and family clinic held immediately after the Day One weigh-in. The clinic will include presentations by the professional anglers plus a variety of prizes.
The Cass Lake tournament is the ninth of the Cabela’s MWC 2012 circuit.
Entry fee is $650 per boat. To register or for more information call (877) 893-7947 ext. 4 or visit masterswalleyecircuit.com.
