Dinner in the Garden planned for Sept. 5

MORRIS, Minn. -- Spend next Thursday, Sept. 5 out at the West Central Research and Outreach Center's Horticulture Display Garden for this year's Dinner in the Garden.

Social hour will begin at 5:30 with dinner seating at 6:30. During the social hour, attendees can snack on Minnesota-produced cheese and hors d'oeuvres, paired with locally-acclaimed Minnesota wines.

This year's three-course menu, prepared by Chef Matthew Jensen of Alexandria, will feature sweet corn bisque with fresh tarragon served with fresh herbs and crème fraiche; beef tenderloin with cipollini onion, Yukon gold potatoes and bacon and braised collard greens or sauteed wild mushrooms with broccoli and cauliflower couscous, accompanied by a sweet potato beurre blanc; and lemon Napoleon layered with pound cake and fresh strawberries.

Social hour will begin at 5:30 with dinner seating at 6:30. Seating is limited, so make reservations early. Tickets are available for purcahse online at wcroc.cfans.umn.edu or in person at the West Central Research and Outreach Center office or the Pomme de Terre Food Coop.
