DNR offers firearms safety class this March
A firearms safety class is being offered in Morris for youth and adults who have not taken a firearms safety class. You must be at least 11 years old to attend the class. Receiving this safety certification meets your requirement for obtaining a hunting license in Minnesota and other states.
The firearms safety class will begin on Tuesday, March 10, 2009. The class will be held at the Morris Area High School Cafeteria in Morris from 7 to 9 p.m. The class consists of five sessions of classroom instruction plus a field day.
The tentative classroom dates are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 10, 12, 17, 19 and 24, and the field day date will be announced.
Attendance is mandatory for all class sessions.
The cost is $7.50 per student to attend. Please pay with a check made out to MN DNR.
Students are required to bring a blank business size envelope, with postage and a copy of their birth certificate to the first class session.
Pre-registration is not required. Registration will take place the first night of class.
This class is only offered once per calendar year in Morris.
