Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
In St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news: St. Johns' meat raffle will be held on Dec. 8. Tickets are available from any St. John's member or at the parish office.
The Kongsvinger Lutheran Church Women advent brunch will be held on Dec. 12 at 9:30 a.m. Please note the change of date.
The Sunday school program will be held on Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. followed by a time of fellowship. There will be only one performance this year.
From Good Shepherd Lutheran Church: the Sunday school program will be held on Dec. 15 during the regular church services at 9 a.m. In the afternoon, there will be a dedication service for the new addition followed by an open house.
Good Shepherd sent 94 shoe boxes out as part of Operation Christmas Child.
Dec. 7 will be a busy day with a number of open houses, bake sales, craft fairs, bazaars and other events happening around Morris. The museum, Senior Center and the PRCA all have events that day.
The Pedersen Funeral Home will have their annual Time of Remembrance on Dec. 8 at 4 p.m.
Flossie Mathison passed away on Nov. 22. Survivors include a niece, Deb (Mark) Erickson of Donnelly and their family.
Former Donnelly area resident “Winnie” Marth of the Herman area passed away Nov 19. The Kopacek family attended her funeral in Herman on Nov. 29.
Former Donnelly area resident Marjorie Armstrong of Morris passed away on Nov. 25. She and her family were former neighbors of mine on the farm and have been lifelong friends.
Tal Arkay Frank and Nash Arkay Frank were born Nov. 15 to Randy and Kelly Frank. Grandparents are Virgil and Theresa Fults and Ken Frank and Joan Radil.
The Tiger cross county awards included newcomer award: Becca Holland; Most Valuable Player: Savannah Aanerud along with being named West Central Conference all-conference team.
Bryce Jergenson was named captain of the Tiger basketball team.
Gage Backman was recently given a scholarship at Southwest State University in Marshall, Minn.
Les Kopel, Kendon Lange and Dave Lonegran were recently re-elected members-at-large for the Stevens County fair board.
In the past week I have attend Bible study at Good Shepherd, fireman's bingo in Donnelly with Mark Koepke, the fall festival at Kongsvinger, the visitation and funeral for Flossie Mathison in Morris, and have visited with Gary Weers in Morris.
