Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
This is the graduation edition of the Donnelly news. I have listed the graduates that I know about for now and if I find out more I will list them in future weeks.
Farmers have been busy taking advantage of the few sunny days we have had in the past week to get some crops in but a few days of heavy rain over the weekend have made that difficult.
In news from the St. John's/Kongsvinger parish: WordAlone Ministries will meet today (Saturday) at Kongsvinger. Coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m. with the program at 10 a.m.
The summer schedule starts on June 5 with services at St. John's at 8:30 a.m. and at Kongsvinger at 10:15 a.m. Copies of the summer schedule are posted at both churches or you can obtain one from the parish office
Vacation Bible School day camp will be held June 12-14 from 6-8 p.m. at Kongsvinger, with a day trip to Luther Crest on June 15. This is open to students who have completed kindergarten through 6th grade. Contact the parish office for details.
The June newsletter is now out. Extra copies are available in the narthex of each church.
From Good Shepherd Lutheran Church: Pastor Mike will be holding a Bible study after coffee hour beginning on June 5.
On June 6 the Red Hatters will meet at Place To Be at 1 p.m. Also that day, the bookmobile will be in town at 3:30 p.m., the city council will meet at the council chambers and the Rendsville 4-H will meet at the fire hall, both at 7 p.m.
The Stevens County Republicans will meet on June 6 at 6:30 p.m. at DeToy's in Morris
There will be Little League games at Aanerud Field on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. until June 21. The Rendsville 4-H will be serving lunch. Women's softball games will be played at Aanerud Field on June 9, 16, 22, 23, 29 and on July 6. The Tri-County horseshoe league also has games at the court in Donnelly by the Post Office on Tuesday evenings.
The Chokio Foxy Ladies will hold a softball tournament on June 11 in Chokio. For more information contact Jessica Huebner at 585-6460.
The Donnelly Community Club will have their monthly meeting on June 13 at the Donnelly Hall.
Ray Holten of Glenwood passed away this week. Survivors include his wife Carol (Frank) and their family. Her parents were the late Clarence and Myrtle Frank.
Congratulations to Tara Flaten who won several awards during the Hancock High School awards show held recently.
Congratulations to Brooke Gillespie who won 2nd place in the 5th and 6th grade health poster contest at Chokio-Alberta.
Congratulations to the Morris Area boys track team that won the subsection track meet on May 26. Tyler Roske is a member of that team.
Congratulations to the Morris Area baseball team that won the conference championship on May 26. Alex Erickson is a member of that team.
Congratulations to Hannah and Samantha Larson who were recently part of duets from the Herman-Norcross High School that won medals at the state FCCLA convention.
Congratulations to the Morris Area High School envirothon team that recently finished in fourth place in the state competition. Natalie Johnston is a member of that team and her mother Judy was the coach.

Dylan Recker, Morris Area, parents are Roger, Deann, grandmother is Marcella.
Carrie and Tyler Roske, Morris Area, parents are Russell, Holly.
Sami Searle, Morris Area, parents are Brad and Amy, grandmother is Agnes.
Kendra Sperr, Morris Area, parents are Duane and Lori, grandparents are Paul and Betty.
Justin Stallman, Morris Area, parents are Jeff and Marilynn, grandmother is Edna.
Joan Kopacek and I attended the Senior Fair in Morris on May 27.
Bev Hurlbult and I attended the committal service for Jullete Banister at the Kongsvinger Cemetery on May 28.
Jim and Lou Eystad and I attended services at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on May 29. Afterwards I spent some time visiting some area cemeteries.
Eddie and Lou Kopel and I attended the Agralite annual meeting in Benson on June 1. I was lucky enough to win a $25 credit.
