From Good Shepherd Lutheran Church: Rally Sunday will be held on Sept. 9 with a potluck brunch to follow services at 10:30 a.m.
The movie, "October Baby" will be shown at the Morris Evangelical Free Church on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
Assumption Catholic Church will have their annual Septemberfest on Sept. 16 beginning with a mass at 10 a.m.
Niemackl Lake Park day will be held on Sept. 15 at the park, which is located about halfway between Herman and Donnelly.
Bob Baldwin of Burlington, Kan. passed away recently. Survivors include his wife, former Donnelly area resident Marcia Frank, sister-in-law Dorothy (Sam) Jordheim of Donnelly and their family.
Tom Mahoney of Alexandria passed away on Sept. 1. Survivors include his brother David (Nichole) Mahoney of Donnelly.
There will be an open house wedding dance for Brianna Neuman and Ben Summer at the Prairie Inn from 8 p.m. to midnight today (Saturday).
The Rendsville 4-H, Donnelly fire department, and Community Club will meet on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. at various locations in Donnelly.
The bookmobile will be in Donnelly on Sept. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
A Salute to Cold War Veterans, those who served from Feb. 1, 1955 - Feb. 27, 1961, will be held on Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. at Old #1 Southside.
The 4th annual Non-Profit Resource Expo will be held on Sept. 17 at the Morris Area High School.
There will be an open house bridal shower for Ashley Mecklenburg, bride to be of David Olson, on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at First Baptist Church, 601 Lyndale Ave., in Morris. Ashley is the daughter of Loren and Kaylene Mecklenburg of Morris and David is the son of Keith and Sheila Olson of Victoria.
Mark Koepke and I attended the Pedersen Funeral Home's "Picnic of Hope and Healing" on Aug. 30 at Pomme de Terre Park. He was a guest of Cal and Jan Bumgardner at their house in Morris on Aug. 31. After attending services at Kongsvinger on Sept. 2, we enjoyed a farewell dinner at DeToy's. That evening, we met Shirley Koepke at McDonald's in Fergus Falls and spent several hours visiting with her before I took him to the bus station for the trip home. He arrived home early Monday and reports that he "had a blast."
The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta High School girls' cross country team finished third at the Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd Invitational Thursday. The Tiger girls were again led by MaKenzie Smith, who placed second overall. Savannah Aanerud finished seventh, with Becca Holland placing 23rd.
I was among those who spent some time in Rollag over the weekend attending their Threshing show.
About 50 people attended the Donnelly Co-op plot day at the Hufford farm near Morris on Sept. 5.
