From the St. John's/ Kongsvinger parish: There will not be a beef supper at St John's this year. Instead they will have a "Where's the Beef Supper" raffle with the grand prize being a quarter of beef.
From Good Shepherd Lutheran Church: The deadline to return the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child is Nov. 11.
A Scandinavian dinner and silent auction will be held at First Lutheran Church of Morris on Nov. 7 from 4-7 p.m.
A meatball supper will be held at Faith Lutheran Church of Morris on Nov. 14 beginning at 4:30 p.m.
There will be a bridal shower for Jill Marie Thompson and Ryan Lee Winther today (Saturday) from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Kongsvinger parish hall.
Verlys Nissen of Morris, formerly of Donnelly, passed away on Oct. 27.
Former Donnelly resident Esther Cline passed away on Oct. 30.
Arnold Volker of Sisseton, S.D. passed away on Oct. 22. Survivors include many cousins, nieces and nephews in the Donnelly area.
There will be an open house baby shower for Chevelle Whittemore at the Morris Senior Center today (Saturday) from 2-4 p.m. The parents are Crystal Henrichs and Nathan Whittemore of Donnelly.

There are two benefits on Nov. 10. The first one is at the Morris American Legion from 4-8 p.m. for the Bill Hafker family. He recently passed away from cancer. The second benefit is for Elroy and Loiann Frank at Shalom Lutheran Church of Alexandria from 4:30-7 p.m. Elroy is a former Donnelly resident.
Chandler Erickson, Tom Holland, Bryce Jergenson and Tyler Heinrich are members of the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta football team that finished the regular season undefeated.
The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta girls' volleyball team finished the regular schedule in a tie for second place in the conference. Beth Holland is a member of that team.
Savannah Aanerud was recently named performer of the week by the West Central Conference in cross county.
MaKenzie Smith finished second in the region 6A girls' cross country meet and will be running in the state tournament today (Saturday) at St. Olaf in Northfield.
Steve Fults and I attended the funeral for Pauline Smith at First Lutheran on Oct 27.
A good crowd was on hand at Kongsvinger on Oct. 28 for confirmation services and a reception afterwards.

On Oct. 30, Jim Eystad and I helped plant more trees at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. That evening, I traveled to Starbuck to visit my friend Denny Anderson in the nursing home.
There was a good crowd at the Donnelly hall for the community club annual Halloween party. There were a lot of great costumes.
The bookmobile will be in Donnelly on Nov. 14.
The Donnelly city council will meet at city hall on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
