The mild dry weather of the past week has enabled area farmers to make rapid progress in getting their crops planted. Some of the small grain in the area is already up. Ditches and other low areas are starting to dry out but there are still a lot of potholes that farmers have to work around. I would suspect that by the time you read this most of the corn will be planted and, weather permitting, the rest of the crops will be finished next week.
