Hopefully the past few weeks are an indication that things are changing for the better weatherwise. We have finally had some sunny, warm weather and some substantial rains to give the crops a good boost. Some grain harvest is underway. I understand the yields are better than expected although test weight and protein are down some. The grain that we shocked for the Bee sure looked good. We filled up 10 racks with bundles so there will be a lot to thresh.

The fair board did another fantastic job with the Stevens County Fair again this year. Elaine Harstad, Bernice Erdahl and Rose Uhden were grand champion winners in the Homemakers building and Michelle Papesh won a grand championship in the open class. Tyler Busse of Appleton won his class at the Demo Derby. Clay said that over $2,000 was raised.
