Dorothy M. Flatau, 92, of Frazee, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Thomas Home II in Perham.
Dorothy Mildred Franklin was born to John Sr. and Agnes (Barfuss) Franklin on Sept. 30, 1916, in Hobart Township near Frazee. She attended and graduated from Frazee Public Schools. On July 9, 1936, Dorothy married Martin Flatau in Sisseton, S.D., and they were married for 60 years. During that time, they farmed in Hobart Township until retirement.
Dorothy lived on the farm until 2006, when she moved into the Thomas House II in Perham, where she received loving care until the time of her death.
Surviving Dorothy are her five daughters, Connie (Gene) Ulschmid, Winnie (Duane) Ulschmid, Bonnie Flatau, Lonnie (Wayne) Johnson and Vickie (John) O'Connell; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her husband Martin; an infant daughter, Lynnie; two grandchildren; her parents; seven brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, followed by an 8 p.m. prayer service, at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee. It will continue for one hour prior to Friday's services at the church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, with the Rev. William Aufdenkamp officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee.
