Douglas Clyde Goddard, age 75, of Farmington, formerly of Morris went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 11, 1934 in Aldrich to Harold William and Jenny Elizabeth (Wassink) Goddard. He married Allenor Cottrell on June 15, 1954 in Wadena. He got his education at District 4 Aldrich Township. He worked as a farmer for Harold Luthi and then Dick Hufford both in the Morris Area before moving to Elk River where he worked as a laborer at Altra-Pack until he retired in 2000.
Survived by his wife Allenor of 55 years; five sons Terry (Sue), Pennock; Dale, Farmington; Kevin (Bonnie), Faribault; Curt (Joan), Circle Pines; DelRay (Shelly), Lakeville; three daughters, LeAnn (Robert) Raths, Fergus Falls; Lynette (Keith) Nelson, Spicer; Jennifer (Bob) Bimberg, Faribault; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; also survived by two brothers, Sam (Norma), Jim (Jeanette); and four sisters, Jean Erickson, Lou Harne, Pat (Allen) Cottrell, Paulette (Mike) Borgheiinck. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and three brothers-in-law.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Verndale with the Rev. Daryl Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena, and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
He will be greatly missed for his kindness, his great sense of humor, and his beautiful embroidery work.
