The driver was southbound on Friberg Avenue approaching Beech Street when the accident happened shortly before 6 a.m., Fergus Falls Police Chief Tim Brennan said.

The pickup veered across the opposite lane and struck the corner of the house at 702 Friberg Ave., breaking the gas line.

A husband and wife escaped the home unharmed as gas built up inside it, Brennan said. Three or four homes across the street also were evacuated. Residents were allowed to return after about 15 minutes, he said.

The driver's name and age were not immediately available, and it wasn't known whether he would be cited, Brennan said.

No one was injured in the accident. The corner of the house was damaged, but the structure is still inhabitable, Brennan said.
