The Morris Eagles amateur baseball team will play for at least two more weeks after earning the right to play in the region 9C playoffs with two Land O' Ducks Wood Division wins.
Next weekend the Eagles will have a seeding game on Sunday against the winner of Saturday's Dumont versus Chokio game. That team will join the Eagles in the Region 9C Tournament.
The Eagles won their first play-off game 4-2 over Clinton Saturday.
Morris scored two in the second inning and one in the third and fifth innings while the Cards scored their only runs in the seventh.
Cory Marquart and Craig Knochenmus led the Eagles' offense with a single and a double apiece and Eric Asche had a triple with an RBI.
Chad Christianson pitched the first seven innings and then gave way to Knochenmus to earn the tough save.
The Eagles took advantage of five Dumont errors, while committing none, in a 4-2 victory Sunday that guaranteed the Eagles a berth in the Region tournament.
Ross Haugen, Josh Griffith and Cory Marquart had two hits apiece.
Adam Torkelson pitched eight and one-third innings to earn the win and Matt Carrington pitched the other two-thirds to earn the save. Torkelson kept the Saints off balance all game as he fought control problems early.
