Eagles notch two more league wins
Eagles catch and release Walleyes
The Morris Eagles got back on track on Friday night in Wheaton with a 14-6 victory. Chad Christianson pitched his 6th win of the season. The Eagles busted the game open in the 7th inning with 7 runs and capitalized on 4 errors that the Walleyes committed. Kirby Marquart lead the offense with a 4 for 4 performance with 2 RBIs. Craig Knochenmus also came through with 3 hits and Eric Asche, Jamie Van Kempen and Tony Schultz had 2 hits.
Eagles sweep weekend
The Morris Eagles came away with a 2-1 victory on a beautiful afternoon in Ortonville. Adam Torkelson came through with another dominating performance on the mound. He surrendered 5 hits, walked 1 and gave up 1 earned run. The Eagles scored their only runs in the 3rd inning. Tony Schultz lead off the inning with a hit, Ross Haugen then bunted him over and Kirby Marquart got on by getting hit by pitch. Then Eric Asche came through with an RBI double that scored Schultz. Later in the inning Torkelson helped his own case by hitting a sacrafice fly that would plate Marquart.
