Eagles rained out against Minneota

The Morris Eagles stand at 3-0 after lightning and rain suspended their Sunday afternoon game in Minneota. The Eagles beat the Appleton A’s last Friday night in Morris and were looking for their fourth straight win of the season over the Minneota Mudhens on Sunday, but mother nature took hold, suspending the game in the eighth inning with the Eagles up 7-4.

The Morris Eagles will now take on the Chokio Coyotes on Friday, June 6 in Chokio at 8 p.m. and the Minnesota game will be resumed at a later date.

Morris 12, Appleton 2

The Morris Eagles 10 runned the Appleton A’s on Friday, May 30 in seven innings to take the win 12-2 and improve to 3-0 on the season.

The Eagle defense fended off eight hits behind pitcher Nate Haseman who worked six innings on the mound, allowing just two earned runs in the game. Nate Gades finished up the seventh innings, taking two of the three outs via strikeout.

Offensively, the Eagles scored early and often, taking an early 6-0 lead after five complete innings before Appleton produced two runs in the sixth.

Craig Knockenmus led the Eagles, going 3-for-4 with a double and homerun, knocking in three RBI total. Gades also produced two doubles and one RBI at the plate in the 12-2 win.

Morris 7, Minneota 4

The Eagles traveled to Minneota to play a game that was originally suppose to be play in Morris on Sunday afternoon. The game was suspended in the bottom of the eighth due to lightning. In the eighth, Morris plated four runs with key situational hitting to put the

Eagles back in front after trailing much of the game.

Ryan Beyer and Knochenmus each had home runs to pace the Eagles. Tanner Picht also had three hits with Mac Beyer picking a huge two RBI hit in the game-changing eighth.

The game will resume at a date later to be determined later.
