Ed Schultz, a longtime radio talk show host in the Red River Valley, announced this morning on KQLX 106.1 FM that he was no longer planning to host his one-hour show on the Lisbon, N.D., radio station.

He also has been hosting a local show from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the Lisbon station. Schultz said today that it would be his last day hosting the program.

As the show wound down, the station played "Family Tradition," a song made popular by Hank Williams Jr.

This spring, Schultz parted ways with KFGO 790 AM, another local talk radio station, during the flood fight, right before he inked a deal for a show on cable TV channel MSNBC.

He also produces a three-hour national radio program every weekday.

It's unclear whether 106.1 FM, a country station, will continue to air Schultz's national show, which airs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
