Elaine Sax, of Morris, MN, was born on January 23, 1922 to Anton and Mary Johnson. She grew up in Wisconsin with her three brothers: Robert, Scott, and Barry and her 4 sisters: Jeannie, Fern, Pearl, and Belle. She married and had four children: Sandra, Arthur, Jack, and Jeanne. She moved to Morris in 1962 where she met Cliff Sax whom she would later marry. Elaine had four step children: Elaine Eckstein, Harley Sax, Irene (Waimon) Sprouls, and Ronnie (Marge) Sax.
She was a cook at Imogene's, Trailways, Del Monico, Red Dot, Kelly's, Ardelle's, Prairie Inn, Cafe in the Mall, and PJ Munchies. She also worked at Varnum's Hardware Store and Fingerhut. She loved to bake, play cards, do crosswords, knit and crochet, and mostly make quilts. Elaine also enjoyed going to the casino. She loved her family dearly. Elaine lived an amazing 91 years...almost 92.
Elaine is survived by: Arthur Burris (Washington), Jack Burris (Tucson, AZ), Jeanne (Tom) Brandt (Morris, MN), Elaine Eckstein (Alexandria, MN), Irene (Waimon) Sprouls (Crystal, MN), Ronnie (Marge) Sax (Nelson, MN); also her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her brother Barry; sisters Fern and Pearl, sisters-in-law Terry and Wanda; special friends Dorothy, Norma, and Kadee. All will miss her very much.
She left on her journey on December 28, 2013. She will be greeted by her husband, Cliff; her parents Mary and Anton; daughter Sandra; brothers Scott and Robert; sisters Jeannie and Belle; brothers-in-law Gordon, Harold, Bruce, and Jim; sister-in-law Lorraine; daughter-in-law Maria; son-in-law Billy; stepson Harley; and stepson-in-law Pete Eckstein. There will be a celebration of her life at the American Legion Hall in Morris, MN on January 13, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
