Enrollment up by 23 students at Hancock Public Schools
The 2013-2014 school year is off to a great start after the first day of classes on Tuesday, Sept, 3. This year’s enrollment is up by 23 students compared to the first day of school last year. The number of students attending class in Hancock on opening day was 308 compared to 285 on the first day last year. In the last five years Hancock Public Schools has had a steady increase in enrollment.
The increase was influenced somewhat by the difference between last year’s graduating seniors and the incoming kindergarteners this year. There were 14 seniors graduating at the end of last year and 34 kindergarteners have enrolled this year which made a difference of twenty.
