Fall activities kick off Aug. 15 for Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta
Many Morris Area High School and Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta fall activities begin Monday, Aug. 15.
The All Activities Kickoff will be held on Monday, Aug. 15 at 7: p.m. in the Elementary Concert Hall. This is for any student planning to participate in activities for the 2011-2012 school year. Former Morris Area student-athlete Aaron Lund will be the guest speaker. Parents and participants in ALL student activities are invited and encouraged to attend this event.
Athletes are reminded to have a current medical physical on file at the high school office. Physicals are needed every three years. If a student participates yearly, it is necessary to have this physical examination in seventh and 10th grades. A health questionnaire shall be completed annually by all athletes and could indicate the need for a physical examination prior to participation. The signature of a parent or guardian approving participation is required. This form must be signed by the student and parent prior to participation.
Parents must also complete the Minnesota State High School League parental forms and make payment for their child's fees at the high school office (there is a NEW FEE schedule for 2011-2012) before a yellow participation slip will be issued to the student participant. Chokio-Alberta athletes may sign up in Chokio or Morris prior to the start of the season. Yellow slips need to be given to coaches and advisors in order to practice and participate in the sport or activity on the first day.
