FARGO - A 57-year-old man was arrested in Fargo on Sunday afternoon after reportedly striking another golfer in the head with a sand wedge following an argument in the Rose Creek Golf Course parking lot.

Donald Sauvageau, 3014 20th St. S. in Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after police were called around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities were called with a report of a man bleeding from the head. The victim, a 55-year-old Mapleton, N.D., man, was loaded into an ambulance, but Sgt. Ross Renner said he was unsure whether he was taken to a hospital.

Renner declined to identify the man, saying he was struck "in the head with a golf club" once.

The argument is believed to have begun in the parking lot of the golf course. Renner would not say what the argument was about.
