Richard Harold Schneider, 53, was arrested by Fargo police Wednesday, police officials reported today.

Schneider faces a felony terrorizing charge and a misdemeanor charge of preventing arrest, Fargo police said in a news release.

Schneider allegedly wrote threats sometime on or about Monday on the school's windows, police said. The threats indicated explosive devices would be detonated at local schools, police said.

While being taken into custody by detectives, Schneider allegedly resisted being put into handcuffs, resulting in the charge of preventing arrest, police said. Schneider was eventually handcuffed and taken into custody without further incident, police said.

Hawthorne Elementary is at 555 8th Ave. S.
