Farm Bureau boards take local ag tour

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors and the Stevens County Farm Bureau Board of Directors toured several area agribusinesses in the Morris and Benson areas on July 28.

While in Morris, the MFBF Board of Directors also met for their board meeting on July 29.

The leaders met with University of Minnesota Morris officials and toured the University of Minnesota wind turbine and gasification plant, Riverview Dairy, Moore Calf farm, Wulf Limousin Farms, Chippewa Valley Ethanol and Fibrominn.

"It is important as we do policy implementation that we as Farm Bureau leaders have a clear understanding of all the proactive entities that agriculture has to offer to our communities," said MFBF President Kevin Paap. "West Central Minnesota is clearly on the leading edge of the next generation of energy sources and continued implementation of technology in both crop and livestock agriculture."

Minnesota Farm Bureau is comprised of 78 local Farm Bureau associations across Minnesota.
