Fire chief says truck station fire started in plow

A fire that took place Thursday evening at the Minnesota Department of Transportation Truck Station on Industrial Drive in Wadena began in a plow truck, according to Wadena Fire Chief Dean Uselman.

The cause of the plow truck fire is not known, he said. The state fire marshal may be called in to investigate what caused the fire.

The truck had not been driven in approximately one week, Uselman said. The truck is almost a total loss and the building sustained heavy smoke and heat damage. The office has moderate water damage, he said. The building did not appear to have been broken into. There were no injuries.
