Five file for Morris Area School Board, six for Morris City Council

MORRIS - The Morris Area School Board and Morris City Council will have contested races this November.

Five candidates have filed for the four open seats on the school board -- incumbents Dick Metzger, Stan Wulf, Jamie Solvie and Brent Fuhrman and newcomer Mike Odello, who also ran in 2012.

Three candidates have filed for the two-year city council term left vacant by Twig Webster's resignation -- James Henricks, Brian Solvie and Joshua Gladis.

There are also two open four-year terms on the city council. Three candidates have filed for those seats, including incumbent Bill Storck and challengers Kevin Wohlers and Kara Splitstoser-Robertson.

Current city council member Matt Carrington, who would be up for reelection the fall, did not file to run again.

The city and school filings are for races in which no primary election is held. Everyone who files will be included on the general election ballot in November.
