Four win PRCA drawing contest top honors

Four students took top honors in the Prairie Renaissance Cultural Alliances' first-annual winter drawing contest.

The contest, themed "What gives you winter wonder?", was open to children from pre-school to grade 6.

The PRCA received 32 drawings from children from Hancock, Morris, Cyrus and Chokio, all featuring the winter theme.

Drawings were on 8-1/2 by 11 inch paper, and were created using pencils, crayons, colored pencils, paint and chalk. Prizes for the top four winners were donated by Pizza Hut and Pizza Ranch.

The winners were:

• 5th-6th grade -- Kaley Tappe, daughter of Ron and Georgia Tappe.

• 3rd-4th grade -- Midori Soderberg, daughter of Tim and Naoko Soderberg.

• 1st-2nd grade -- Brady Cardwell, son of Douglas and Meriel Cardwell.

• Preschool-kindergarten -- Greta Hentges, daughter of Scott and Kellie Hentges.
