FRIDAY UPDATE: Westbound Interstate 94 closed from Alexandria to Fergus Falls

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol closed westbound Interstate 94 from Alexandria to Fergus Falls due to a crash near the Dalton interchange. Westbound Interstate 94 will remain closed until the scene is cleared.

Eastbound Interstate 94 remains open from Fergus Falls to Alexandria, but travel conditions are difficult.

When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or sentenced to 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
