Gators continue to qualify
The Minnewaska Area/ Morris Area swimming and diving team recorded more dropped times, as well as section-qualifying times Thursday in a 109-75 loss to Foley.
Caroline Fritz took first place in the diving competition with a score of 138.9.
Tiana Barsness, Kelsey Greenwaldt, Paige Entzi, and Laura Moe took first place in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:14.35.
Entzi placed first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:08.91.
Entzi also took second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:40.20.
Natalie Holte's dropped time of 28.42 qualified her for sections in the 50 freestyle.
Holte also qualified in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:19.96.
Also in the 100 breaststroke, Brittany Opdahl and Bridget Opdahl both dropped their times. Brittany came in at 1:21.26 and Bridget finished in 1:25.70.
Bridget took second place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.48.
Dani Boutain qualified in the 500 freestyle by dropping her time to 6:26.48.
Moe's time of 1:02.39 was good for second place in the 100 freestyle.
The 200 medley relay team of Entzi, Holte, Moe, and Opdahl took second with a time of 2:07.04.
The Gators also took second place in the 200 freestyle relay. Barsness, Bridget Opdahl, Brittany Opdahl, and Greenwaldt finished in 1:56.52.
Junior Varsity
The junior varsity swimmers were very competitive, falling 84-77 to Foley, while recording many dropped times.
In the 100 individual medley, August Finzel dropped her time to 1:22.52 and Caitlyn Parsons improved to 1:26.80.
Finzel also dropped her time in the 100 backstroke to 1:22.08.
Katie Ruttledge dropped time in the 50 freestyle to 38.11.
Katie Anderson droppped her time in the 100 breast stroke to 1:55.30.
