The Morris Area/Minnewaska Area Gators hosted the Section 6A True Team Meet Saturday at the RFC.
Julie Helander placed seventh in 11 dives with a score of 243.45, while eighth grader Mason Schlief scored over 100 points in her six-dive list.
The Gators had four teams compete in the 200 medley relay and they placed 10th, 18th, 26th, and 27th. Kelsey Curfman had a personal best time in the 50 back portion of her "D" relay along with teammate Emily Reuther in her 50 free.
In the 200 free Bridgitte Weaver, Alexis Banister, Ashlee Boysen, and Ari Maras competed and Weaver, Banister and Boysen all had time drops.
Paige Entzi placed 8th in the 200 individual medley. Eden Testa dropped six seconds from her previous time. Colleen Rutledge and Darrian DuVall also competed in this event.
Bridget Opdahl placed 1st in the 50 free, McKayla Smith placed 18th, while Paige Hawkins and Halleigh Thompson placed 28th and 29th, respectively.
In the 100 fly Alexis Banister and Darrian Duvall both improved their times, while and Testa and Amanda Thompson maintained their personal-best times.
In the 100 free Opdahl and Tarin Anding of Sartell swam down to the last inch and Anding prevailed. Opdahl lowered her school record to 56.36 from the Marshall meet this week of 56.73. The old mark was set in 1999. Weaver, Rutledge, and H. Thompson placed 18th, 30th, and 41st, respectively.
Senior Mckayla Smith placed 27th in the 500 free, followed by freshmen Ari Maras who had the biggest time drop of four seconds for 30th place. Paige Hawkins and Hannah Berg placed 32nd and 33rd, respectively.
Sartell junior and four-time Class "A" state champion Marissa Wood broke True Team and pool records in this event with a 5:01.34.
The Gators had many personal bests in the 200 free relay including Emily Reuther, Kelsey Curfman, Ashlee Boysen, Hannah Berg, Alexis Banister, and Eden Testa in their 50 frees.
Entzi finished seventh in the 100 back. Seventh grader Agnes Dieter, eighth grader Meghan Thoen, and Emily Edmunds swam their first true team meet in the 100 back. Edmunds dropped 10 seconds in this event.
In the 100 breaststroke Schlief, Thompson, Kristina Johnson, and 7th grader Tristin Heald placed 19th, 23rd, 29th, and 30th, respectively.
The quartet of Bridgitte Weaver, Smith, Entzi, and Opdahl earned a trip to the podium with a seventh place finish in the 400 free relay. The Gators also placed 25th and 27th. The "B" relay was disqualified on an early jump on the exchange and missed out on 30 points for the team.
