Grand Derangement kicks off Performing Arts Series

Every year, the University of Minnesota, Morris sponsors its Performing Arts Series, inviting an array of performers who throughout the year entertain and inspire students, faculty, staff and community members alike.

The series kicks off with Grand Derangement, a Nova Scotia musical and step group playing an Acadian blend of folk, Celtic, rock, Broadway and French chansonniers music. They perform on Sat., Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Edson Auditorium in the Student Center on the Morris campus.

In addition to a spectacular and full-bodied stage show, Grand Derangement will also offer a free step dance class, open to the public, at 1 p.m. in the Recital Hall in the Humanities Fine Arts building, according to Sydney Sweep, Performing Arts Committee co-chair, shares that
