Gregg Simon Meser, age 69 of Menomonie, WI passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.

Gregg was born September 8, 1944 in Manitowoc, WI to Harold and Floraine "Ardy" (Wehrwein) Meser. He graduated from Green Lake High School and Madison Business College.

Gregg married Barbara Patzke on May 8, 1976 at West Side Moravian Church in Green Bay, WI. He worked in the financial industry for 25 years at eastern and central Wisconsin banks. He had a strong faith beginning at an early age which eventually led to his calling in ministry. Gregg was a second career local pastor for 15 years serving the Glen Hills Parish United Methodist Church in Downing, Emerald and Glenwood City, WI, retiring in June 2007. He was an avid Badger and Packer fan. His interests included reading, writing and listening to a variety of music.

Gregg is survived by his wife, Barbara of Menomonie; daughter, Leigh (Eddie) Engesether of Blaine, MN; son, Mark (Crystal) of Menomonie and granddaughter, McKenzie Meser. He is also survived by his siblings: brother, Jeff (Retta) of Brookfield, WI; sister Lane (Gary) Mudra of Bayside, WI. His wife's family: Richard (Sue) Patzke of Crivitz, WI; Don (Linda) Patzke of Pulaski, WI; Nancy (Randy) Knapton of Howard, WI, as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ardy; in-laws, Myron and Margaret Patzke; grandparents and other relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Westside Moravian Church in Green Bay, WI with Rev. Marian Boyle officiating. There will be visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in West Side Moravian Cemetery, Green Bay, WI following the service. All are welcome to attend.
