Growing Green: Planting Trees
This unseasonably warm spring has encouraged avid home gardeners to get a jump start on their veggies. Potatoes, onions, peas, lettuce, spinach and radish have been planted, and it's just about warm enough to get the tomatoes, beans and peppers in the ground. You want the soil temperature to reach 70 to have the best success with these crops. What to do until then? Plant a tree! Trees from your local garden center are usually containerized.
