The All-School Reunion plans continue to unfold as the committee holds regular meetings and plans for the huge celebration. At their meeting on Monday night, the current count for registered alumni is at 350 with more coming in daily.
The reunion committee will need to give a close count for the supper to the caterer so they are asking anyone who would like to attend the meal on Saturday night, to contact Betty Gillespie and send $10 per person to All-School reunion, P.O. Box 176, Hancock, MN 56244. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door so to ensure a meal, you should send in your registration.
Registration for the reunion will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 6 and continue until 10 p.m. that night. Tours of the school will take place that night and there will be classrooms available for classes to gather if they wish.
The registration and tours will resume Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Reunion activities will then coincide with the traditional July 4 activities, now taking place on July 7. Classes are encouraged to participate in the parade and other activities.
The reunion supper will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the school. Alumni will have an opportunity to visit with friends and tour the school until the start of the program at 7:30 p.m.
There will be some familiar names and faces on tap at the program. David Sloneker from the class of 1968 will be the Master of Ceremonies. A Community Choir led by Elna Smith will entertain throughout the program. Former teacher Carol Wilcox and administrator Delores Wiese will be speaking.
Special awards, performances and tributes are also part of the program. A special feature will be music of past, present and future Owls, the theme for the reunion.
Orders can be placed now for reunion t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. A form was sent out with the registration information or can be placed by contacting Image Xperts in Morris. All-School Reunion books will also be available to purchase at the registration tables for $10.
