Hancock Boys lose to CGB but Foss scores 1,000th
On Friday night, in front of a crowded and hot Hancock gym, the boys hosted the Clinton-Graceville Beardsley Wolverines.
The Owls battle and fought to the very end, however, the game ended in a 72-66 loss.
Earlier in the year the Owls were easily defeated by the Wolverines. However, the Owls knew they could play better and give the Wolverines a tough ballgame. The Owls got off to a slow start on both ends of the floor and the Wolverines jumped out to a double digit lead.
It was a very special night for Brendon Foss. Going into the game Brendon needed just seven points to reach 1,000 for his career. Brendon reached this milestone on a 3 pointer with 12 minutes left in the first half.
The Owls trailed 36-20 at the half. The Owls came out much more aggressive in the second half and battled their way back into the ball game. The Owls would continually cut the lead to single digits but couldn't seem to get much closer than eight points. The Owls were lead by Foss with 32 points and 17 rebounds. Cory Schroeder and Dylan Reese both played solid in the second half and helped spark the second half comeback.
