"This was a physical game from start to finish", said coach Jodi Holleman, "The Comets play outstanding man-to-man defense, and they did not tire out at all down the stretch. In fact, I believe they increased their intensity in the final five minutes. Illissa Koehl did a great job of attacking the basket and was able to get herself to the freethrow line where she went 14 for 20 on the night."

Stat Leaders: were

Illissa Koehl 27 points, 5 assists

Shae Brown 13 points, 3 rebounds

Kendra Schmidgall 13 points, 10 rebounds

Aria Walstad 3 points, 7 assists, 3 steals

Courtney Greiner 3 points, 4 rebounds

Olivia Koehl 2 points, 2 rebounds

Abby Ascheman 3 rebounds, 1 steal

Overall, the owls shot 19 of 43 which includes 5 of 14 from beyond the arc.

As a team Hancock pulled down 27 rebounds and dished out 17 assists.

"This was a nice Section 6A victory over a very good Comet team. Hillcrest could be a dangerous team in play-offs," Holleman said.

The Owls improve to 18-1.

Hancock Dental Clinic sponsored the balls that were thrown out in the game.
