Owls win both games in double-header vs. C-A

Game 1 behind a Patrick Koehl solo home run

The Owls start the game in the bottom of the 1st scoring two runs. With one out Philip Schaefer hit a single and scored on an RBI double by Jerid Berning. Then with two outs Ross Ascheman hit an RBI single scoring Berning. This gave the Owls a 2-0 lead. The 2nd inning was scoreless by both teams. In the bottom of the 3rd Hancock scores three more runs. Patrick Koehl led off with a solo home run. Taylor Holleman hit a single with two outs stealing 2nd and 3rd base followed by Ross Ascheman reaching base on an error scoring Holleman. Ascheman then stole 2nd and 3rd followed by an Austin Anderson RBI double scoring Ross giving the Owls the lead 5-0 going into the 4h inning. C-A scored one run in the 4th giving the Owls the win 5-1.

Offensively Patrick Koehl, Philip Schaefer, Jerid Berning, Taylor Holleman, Ross Ascheman and Austin Anderson led the Owls with one hit each. Defensively Jerid Berning picked up the win striking out three Spartans.

Owls win game 2 behind Austin Anderson's shutout

The Owls start the game in the bottom of the 1st with one run. Patrick Koehl led off with a strike out but reached base on a passed ball and eventually stealing 2nd and 3rd and ended up scoring in a passed ball. The 2nd inning was scoreless. The bottom of the 3rd Hancock scored one more run. With Patrick Koehl leading off with a double and with one out, Ross Ascheman had an RBI sacrifice hit scoring Koehl. The game ended with the Owls winning 2-0. Offensively Patrick Koehl and Brendan Jensen led the Owls with one hit each.

Austin Anderson picked up the win, striking out four Spartans and throwing a shutout. This improves the Owls to 11-1 on the year.

Miller's great catch seals the game at CGB

The game was scoreless for both teams until the bottom of the 4th inning when CGB scores one run to give them the lead 1 -0. The fifth inning also came up scoreless for both teams with CGB still leading 1 -0. In the top of the 6th Hancock took the lead with two runs. Philip Schaefer and Taylor Holleman each scored in the sixth inning. In the bottom of the 6rh CGB ended up scoreless giving Hancock a 2-1 lead going into the last inning. Top of the 7th Hancock scored 5 runs with Koehl, Schaefer, Anderson, Jerrid Jepma and Justin Miller all scoring and Schaefer added an RBI single. In the top of the 7th CGB rallied for five runs giving the Owls the win 7-6.

Offensively Schaefer led the Owls with three hits and defensively Justin Miller made a great catch in right center field over his shoulder and turning a double play at 2nd base to give the Owls the win. Patrick Koehl picked up the win pitching six innings allowing one run, no earned runs and having nine strikeouts. Philip Schaefer came in and pitched 2/3 of an inning picking up the save.

Game 1 of Wheaton tour. Owls lose to Morris

In the bottom of the 1st Morris scored three runs to take the lead and scored two more runs in the bottom of the 3rd and one run in the bottom of the 4th and four more in the bottom of the 5th giving Morris the win 10-0 over Hancock.

Offensively for the Owls Philip Schaefer, Brendan Jensen, Jerid Berning and Jerrid Jepma led the Owls with one hit each.

Hancock vs. B-E Wheaton Tournament Game 2

To start the game Hancock scored three runs with Patrick Koehl, Philip Schaefer, Brendan Jensen all scoring with Taylor Holleman and Ross Ascheman assisting with a sacrifice hit and an RBI each. In the bottom of the 1st Brandon-Evansville scores one run giving the Owls a 3-1 lead. In the top of the 2nd Hancock went scoreless with B-E scoring three runs in the bottom of the 2nd giving B-E a 4-3 lead. In the top of the 3rd Hancock scored two runs with Patrick Koehl and Philip Schaefer each scoring and Taylor Holleman having an RBI sacrifice hit and Ross Ascheman having an RBI single. B-E went scoreless in the bottom of the 3rd giving the Owls a 5-4 lead. In the top of the 4th the Owls follow by going scoreless with B-E scoring one run in the bottom of the 4th tying the game 5-5. In the top of the 5th Hancock scores two more runs with Philip Schaefer and Taylor Holleman scoring with Ross Ascheman and Jerid Berning having a RBI sacrifice hit each. B-E went scoreless in the bottom of the 5th giving the Owls a 7-5 lead and winning the game with the same score after 6 innings.

Offensively Patrick Koehl, Taylor Holleman, Brendan Jensen and Ross Ascheman led the Owls with one hit each. Ascheman also had three big RBIs. Defensively Philip Schaefer picked up the win and struck out three Chargers. Taylor Holleman came in pitching in the bottom of the 6th picking up the save pitching one inning and striking out one Charger.

Owls lose game 3 to Ortonville placing 6th

The game was scoreless until the top of the 4th with Ortonville having a big inning scoring eight runs. In the top of the 5th Ortonville scores four more runs giving them the lead 12-0. In the bottom of the 5th Hancock scores two runs with Justin Miller and Patrick Koehl scoring and Philip Schaefer with an RBI sacrifice hit.

Offensively Jerid Berning and Austin Anderson led the Owls with one hit each. Taylor Holleman pitched three innings and struck out five Trojans.
