"Where the Wild Things Are" is a new children's movie out that has been causing a lot of buzz. This movie is adapted from a book written and illustrated by Maurice Sendak in 1963 that received the prestigious Caldecott medal in 1964 and also was an American Library Association Notable book. We have the book here at the library and I love it. Maurice Sendak has always been one of my favorite illustrators of children's books.

So, is it a good movie to take your child to? That has been the great controversy. It certainly is a book that can spark an imagination, but some people feel it is just a little too scary. If you are not sure, maybe come check out the book first.

We have John Grisham's new book, "Ford County" and it is a book of short stories and the reviews are good. Another new book is "Shades of Blue" by Karen Kingsbury.

Most of the time I don't like books that are too "heavy". I enjoy mysteries. Right now I am reading Mary Higgins Clark book "Just Take My Heart". Very easy but there are always so many characters that could have been the bad people. Before that I read "First Family" by David Baldacci. Lots of books out there just waiting for me. I am listening to "I Feel Bad about my Neck" by Nora Ephron. Just because I am reading a book does not necessarily mean that it is good--it's probably just my topic of conversation with you. We have many different books for many different people and sometimes I just like to give you a few ideas to think about. The good thing is that they are free and so you can always bring it back if you don't like it and exchange for another one.

I am practicing my song "Albuquerque is a Turkey" for the ECFE coming Tuesday night and busy cutting out felt leaves to make turkey headbands. Oh what fun we have here at the library!

The calendars are in and they are beautiful!!

See ya' at the Library!
