Hancock Volleyball team ranked first in tournament play-offs

On Monday night the Owls volleyball team faced a tough and scrapy Parkers Prairie team and came away with a 3-1 win. The scores were 25-13,18-25,26-24,25-22.

The Owls came out strong in set one and were able to get their offense going with good passing and agressive net play. Set two saw the Panthers get into their offense and Hancock struggled with passing and made a lot of mental errors. Set three saw the Owls down big before fighting back to tie the score 21-21 and coming away with a 26-24 win. Set four again was close going back and forth before Hancock was finally able to win 25-22.

Tara Flaten played a great match having four solo blocks, four kills and four digs. Kendra Schmidgall led with 34 kills followed by Courtney Greiner with 14. Shae Brown had 45 assists along with five kills. Ali Reese and Schmidgall each had 14 digs to lead the team.

On Tuesday the Owls traveled to Evansville for the last regular season match and won with scores of 25-14,25-21,25-20. Even though Hancock won in three sets the team really struggled the whole match getting any consistent offense going and had a lot of communication errors. Courtney sparked the team in set two and played a consistent game having 12 kills, two blocks and 6 digs. Kendra led with 21 kills, Ali led with 15 digs and Shae had 25 set assists. This brings the Owl record to 27-1.
