Students in the High School College Intro to Art class, through the Southwest State University College Now Program, will be available to discuss their work, along with their teacher, Debra Betow Swezey.

The student artists are Kelsey Greenwaldt, Braden Luthi, Shadow Olson, Dylan Recker, and Brittany Prokasky.

Refreshments will be served.

Each student currently has four works of art on display, including a photo collage, thematic abstraction, pointillist oil pastel, and themed artwork.

Students will also have a silkscreen collage and an acrylic painting done on a chosen style. All artwork will have an artist statement available for viewing during the reception.

"The students have worked hard this semester creating original compositions, experimenting with different mediums, and completing research projects," Swezey said.

Students receive college and high school credit after completing the course. The course is an introduction to art which concentrates on the concepts of the visual elements, principles of design, themes in art, photo essays, drawing, and styles of painting, printmaking, and sculpture.

The frames used were made possible by grants written to several local organizations. After the granting process, 25 frames were purchased with the Morris Area Arts Boosters grant along with five from the Morris Foundation.
