DETROIT LAKES, Minn. -- Motorists on Highway 104 south of Glenwood will experience delays when a road resurfacing project and detour begin April 23.

Traffic will use a detour on Highway 55 and Pope County Road 29 through mid-May while crews replace several culverts. Following the detour, crews will resurface the roadway, which will require lane closures with a pilot car operation.

All work is scheduled to be complete in late May, weather permitting. The project was originally scheduled to begin in mid-May, but favorable weather conditions will allow the contractor to start the project early.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide travel information, visit www.511mn.org, call 5-1-1 or log on to www.mndot.gov.

A map of the detour is available at www.mndot.gov/d4/images/6110-19_hwy104_detour.pdf.
