The Storm girls fell to Alexandria 8-3 in the Section 6A semifinal Tuesday night in Benson.

The Storm took an early 2-0 lead within the first two minutes on goals from Dani Schultz and Sara Rajewsky.

The Cardinals answered with two of their own to tie it up.

Rajewsky then put the Storm back on top with a short-handed goal at 12:58 of the first period.

The Cardinals then took advantage of a power play to tie it again and the score was 3-3 at the end of one period.

The Cardinals added the only goal of the second period and took control of the game with four in the final period.

A successful season came to an end for Morris Benson Area with a final record of 21-4. All four of the Storms losses were to teams in the Central Lakes Conference, including Alexandria.

It was the final game for six MBA seniors on a roster that has no juniors or sophomores.

Schultz finishes her career with over 400 points, including a state-leading 74 goals and 118 points this winter. Rajewsky ends her final season with 46 goals and 48 assists.
