Home runs by Beyer and Valnes lift Tigers over Falcons
Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City saw a 5-4 lead in the fifth evaporate as Ryan Beyer led off with a solo home run which was followed by a two-run homer from Brady Valnes during a five-run inning.
The Falcons built their lead on a two-run double by Michael Kramer during a four-run second inning.
Tyler Hansen doubled and tripled and drove in three runs for the Tigers. (6-1, 10-1). Beyer was 2-for-2 and scored three times.
Eric Riley was 1-for-4 with a double; Cole Riley was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBIi; Taylor Hufford was 1-for-4 with an RBI; Brady Valnes was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI; and Mitch Kill was 2-for-3.
Winning pitcher Mitch Kill threw three innings in relief for the win and also had two hits.
Trever Heining took the loss in relief. Mitch Tauer threw the first four innings for the Falcons.
The Tigers improved to 6-1 in the West Central Conference South and 10-1 overall.
